Join a noon hour reading with Okanagan writers Norah Bowman and jaz papadopoulos featuring their new books. Bring your lunch! Introduction by Michelle Doege.
Norah Bowman is a poet, college professor, and community organizer living on unceded Syilx Okanagan territory. Her recent book, My Eyes Are Fuses (2024, Caitlin Press), is a narrative feminist myth, shape-shifting, and creative resistance. Norah completed her Phd in English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta in 2013 and continues to publish on topics of colonialism, mining, and human rights.
jaz papadopoulos (they/them) is an interdisciplinary writer, educator, and video artist. They hold an MFA from the University of British Columbia and are a Lambda Literary Fellow. A self-described emotionalist and avid Anne Carson fan, jaz is interested in media, horticulture, lyricism, nervous systems, anarchism, and erotics. Originally from Treaty 1 territory, jaz currently resides on unceded Syilx lands. Their debut poetry collection, I Feel That Way Too (Nightwood Editions), was a CBC recommendation and a McNally Robinson bestseller. Find their archive online at textualdealings.com.
