Festival Kickoff Reading- Brianna Ferguson with MFA Students

On Friday, April 11, we'll be launching our festival with local poet Brianna Ferguson reading from her latest collections. The reading will also feature a medley of new and exciting poetic voices from the emerging poets in the Master of Fine Arts program at UBC Okanagan. Introductions by Matt Rader.
Brianna Ferguson is a writer and educator living in Salmon Arm, BC. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from UBC, where she also teaches creative writing. Her poems and stories have appeared in various publications across North America and the U.K. Her first full-length poetry collection, A Nihilist Walks into a Bar (published by Mansfield Press in 2021), was shortlisted for the 2022 ReLit Awards. Her most recent collection, Poor Substitute, was published by Acid Bath Publishing out of Sheffield, England, in the summer of 2024.
